A very attractive set of 7 prints of Auguste Borget scenes of Hong and Macau published by the Urban Council and printed by the Goverment Printer. Very good condition on a good quality textured paper. No printing date given.
The original paintings were created in 1838-39. Auguste Borget (1808-1877) embarked on a round the world voyage in 1836 and stayed for 8 months in Macau during his trip. When he returned to France he published his 'Sketches of China and the Chinese' in 1842.
Prints are 45.7cm x 36.5cm.
