Edinburgh, or the Ancient Royalty; A sketch of Formal Manners; with notes.

By Simon Gray. This was in fact a pseudonym of Sir Alexander Boswell (1775-1822), the son of James Boswell, the biographer.

Published for Manners & Miller, by J. Johnstone, High Street, Edinburgh, 1810.

This is a first edition and a scarce publication. Only a few copies to be found on Copac.

Hardback with marbled boards. Covers are loose and probably a later 19th century binding. Text pages are very good and deserve re-binding.

48pp.

Approximate dimensions:

175mm high x 112mm wide x 9mm deep.
